My name is Justin Newmann.
I am a professional working geologist based in Anchorage, Alaska. I hold a B.S. and M.S in Earth Science/Geology from UC Santa Barbara and currently work for Alaska Earth Sciences as a geologist specialized in planning and operating technical aspects of remote exploration field programs.
My masters thesis research focused on the structural and volcanic evolution of the eastern Mojave Desert and lower Colorado River extensional corridor.
I am also a photographer and musician and enjoy hiking, backpacking, and scaling various rock piles across the US and world.
All of my photographs and recorded music are available for purchase on this site and bandcamp. I am also available for guitar/banjo lessons in person in Alaska and through online video calling.
